Abelinda Cadena

Abelinda "Linda" (Sotelo) Cadena, 97, of Corpus Christi, formerly of Three Rivers, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2018.
Linda was born July 12, 1921, to Victor and Feliciana (Gutierrez) Sotelo in Three Rivers. She married Manuel Cadena Sr. on Oct. 22, 1940. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers.
Linda was strong in character and determined to make the best of any challenges that life brought her way. She enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, sewing and baking, especially around the holidays. Her cakes and cookies are still the topic of wonderful holiday memories. Linda was a very charitable person and was always ready to help in any way she could. Her laughter, love of life, her spirit and faith will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor and Feliciana (Gutierrez) Sotelo; Manuel Cadena Sr.; a son, Alcario "Cary" Cadena; and seven siblings, Santos, Policarpio, Hijinio, Petra, Gabino, Adelaida and Mary.
Survivors include two sons, Manuel Cadena Jr. and John Cadena, both of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Maria Anna Cadena of Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Eva (Cary) Cadena; 10 grandchildren, Rosalinda Ortiz, Lisa Garcia, Luis Cadena, Lily Cadena, Linda Lou Cadena, Cary Cadena Jr., Bridgette Cadena, Cindy Reyes, Arnold Cadena and Sarah Cadena; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Three Rivers. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers.
Burial will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Sotelo, Louie Cadena, Larry Johnson, Arnold Cadena, Richard Contreras and Robert Romano.
