Ada Sue Stockton, 92, of Beeville, passed away on February 16, 2017. She was born on Oct. 1, 1924, in Goliad, Texas to Thomas Benjamin Welch and Elizabeth Wells Welch. She met William Lincoln Stockton at school where they were both in the Goliad H.S. Class of ‘41. They married August 31, 1941 and together they raised four sons, William Lincoln, Jr., Thomas Edward, Robert Welch and Shelby David.
Ada Sue is survived by her sons, Bill (Kathy) Stockton of Beeville, Shelby (Kelley) Stockton of Point Comfort; daughters-in-law, Peggy Stockton of Cypress, and Victoria Stockton of Fannin; grandchildren, Trey (Kim) Stockton, Stacy Stockton, Brenda (Scott) Bond, Carrie (David) Westfall, Linc (Kristin) Stockton, Darcy Stockton, David Stockton, Heather (Patrick) Mackay, Jacque Stockton, Benjamin (Jennifer) Stockton; step grandchildren, Jeffrey (Marla) Grissom, Kayla (Rajir) Sareen, and Hunter Coombs; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Audrey Welch; three nephews, Tom Welch, Rodney Welch, Kevin Welch and host of other dear family members.
She was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Lincoln; parents, Tom and Elizabeth Welch; sons, Tom and Bob Stockton; brother, Tom Welch, Jr.; and husbands, Benson Wells, Marshall McDonald, and Wes Stephens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Goliad or South Texas Children’s Home Ministries.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Beeville, Texas. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 11:00 a.m.
at First Baptist Church in Goliad. Officiants will be Rev. George Yarborough and Rev. Cliff Abshier.
Pallbearers will be Trey Stockton, Linc Stockton, David Stockton, Ben Stockton, Scott Bond, David Westfall, Patrick MacKay, and Sergio Edson.
Interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Goliad.
