Adela Rokohl

Adela Amanda Rokohl, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother was called home to her Lord and Savior on June 3, 2016, at the age of 96 with her family by her side. She was born on April 6, 1920, in Karnes County, Texas. She attended the Mixon School which was located within walking distance of her home in Karnes County, Texas. She married the love of her life, Edward Robert Rokohl, on May 25, 1939, who predeceased her on October 4, 1991. After they married, they first lived in Skidmore, where her husband ran a filling station. In 1940, they moved to Ray Point which she helped her husband farm and ranch. It was always a dream of hers to live in the city so in 1950, they moved to Three Rivers where she worked by her husband's side when they owned and operated a grocery store for a number of years. She always was an excellent cook and after selling the store, she enjoyed cooking again, baby sitting grandchildren and working in her yard. A wish she always had was that she could have been nurse. Family can agree that she was an excellent care giver when any of her family was ill. She was a devout member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid as long as she was able to attend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Augusta Kroehn Boehm; brothers, Louis Boehm, Helmuth Boehm, Paul Boehm, Walter Boehm; sister, Agnes Boehm Haner and son-in-law, Raymond Wieding. She is survived by her daughters, Dena Wieding Forehand (husband, Thomas), Nancy Pearl Wieding (husband, Henry); and son, Harvey Wayne Rokohl (wife, Lou); six (6) grandchildren, Kimberly Graves (husband, Robert), Rodney Wieding, Gary Wieding (wife, Christie), Amy Brysch (husband, Bryan), Lance Rokohl (Stephanie Overstreet), and Clay Rokohl (wife, Laura). She also leaves behind great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren together with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Lillie Aldaba, who took excellent care of her, and Three Rivers Nursing Home for their love and support during her stay. Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons, Rodney Wieding, Gary Wieding, Lance Rokohl, Robert Graves, Bryan Brysch, Jay Graves, Garrett Wieding and Matthew Wieding. Visitation will be on Monday, June 6, 2016, at 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be on June 7, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Reverend Norman Sulaica officiating.
