Alejandro D. Amaro, 85, of Three Rivers, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015. Mr. Amaro was born July 9, 1930, in George West to Aurora Garza and Alcardio Amaro. He married Soveida Cadena in Three Rivers in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was self-employed and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Robert Amaro; and three brothers, Richard Garza, Demetrio Garza and Guadalupe Garza. Survivors include five sons, Alcario (Delia) Amaro and David Amaro, both of Three Rivers, Alex (Rosario) Amaro Jr. of Austin, James (Margaret) Amaro of Corpus Christi and Johnny (Elizabeth) Amaro of Pleasanton; two daughters, Aida (Doug) Heard and Louann Amaro, both of Three Rivers; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Robert Garza, Ralph Garza and Alfredo Garza; and five sisters, Louise Galindo, Helen Balubau, Alice Gamez, Gloria Rodriguez and Delores Nunez. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Three Rivers. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Burial followed in Three Rivers Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bryan Heard, Michael Amaro, Jamon Amaro, E.Z. Amaro, Andrew Amaro, Jason Amaro, Robert Ruiz and Justin Perez. Honorary pallbearers were C.J. Amaro, Caleb Amaro, Jeremiah Isom and Jackson Isom.
