Alfred Voss

Alfred Arnold Voss Sr., 85, died Friday, July 10, 2015, at his home in Owatonna, Minnesota. Mr. Voss was born June 12, 1930, in Normanna to Ollie Myone (Roberts) and August Charlie Voss. He grew up in Normanna and graduated from Pettus High School in 1948. He married Barbara Ann Simpson in 1950 and worked at the refinery in Pettus. Completing his career, he advanced from laborer to superintendent with Trunkline Gas Company. Upon retirement, he and Barbara moved to their home they built together at Rocky Creek Ranch, rural Medina. Following Barbara's death in 1996, he married Mary Ann Beckman Deck in 1997. They later divorced. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Voss; parents, August and Ollie Voss; brother, Carl August Voss; and sisters, Lorene Perkins, Ola Pahmeyer, Mary Pearce, Lillian Astasauskas, Hilda Shaw and Annie Staton. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Elaine (Voss) Burke of Bandera and Brenda Ann Voss (Phill) Parker of Owatonna, Minnesota; two sons, Alfred Arnold Voss Jr. of Medina and Bobby Wayne (Debby) Voss of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; brother, Marvin E. (Betty) Voss of Normanna; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Thursday evening, July 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue there at 10 a.m. Friday, July 17, with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. Burial will be at San Domingo Cemetery in Normanna.
