Alice Howe

Alice (Dyer) Howe, 89, of Beeville, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011. Mrs. Howe was born Oct. 4, 1921, in Skiatook, Okla., to Effie (McDonald) and John W. Dyer. She was a secretary by profession. She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Effie Dyer; two brothers; four sisters; her husband, Sid Howe; a son, John Wayne Johnson; and a great-grandson, Wesley Miller. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary Johnson of Beeville; a sister, Laura Johnson of Beeville; eight grandchildren; and numerous other family members. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Don Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be David Hutchens, Rick Webb, David Webb, James Johnson, Roger Perkins and Gary Lehmberg. Memorial donations may be made to South Texas Children's Home at P.O.
