Alice Titus

Alice Virginia (Brundrett) Titus, a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and great-aunt, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 75 on December 16, 2021.

Alice was born on June 21, 1946, to her parents, Edward Payne Brundrett, Sr., and Wilma Brundrett. She graduated from Skidmore-Tynan High School in 1964.

Alice spent her life as a loving mother to her daughter, Lucretia Janek (William), a grandmother to her two grandsons, Will and Walker, and an “Auntie” to all of her nieces and nephews. Alice dedicated 39 years of her life to H-E-B Grocery until she retired in 2001.

Alice loved to cook, take trips with her friends and always enjoyed a game of Monopoly. She was always ready for the next adventure and her quick wit and loving personality touched everyone she met. She had an infinite love for football and golf and never missed an episode of the Wheel of Fortune or a Sunday service by Joel Osteen.

For the last 21 years of her life, Alice spent her days doing what she cherished most, spending time with her family, and being a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Brundrett, Sr. and Wilma Brundrett; her brother, Edward Brundrett, Jr. and his wife, Henrietta Brundrett; and her sister, Nancy Syma.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Lucretia (William) Janek of Portland; and her grandsons, William Edward Janek III and Walker Payne Janek. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Albert (Juju) Syma; nieces, Sandra (Roy) Robinette, Crystal Syma and Heidi Brundrett; nephew, Buster Syma; as well several great-nieces and great-nephews she loved dearly, Hailey Massey (David), Kelsey Robinette and Ryan Robinette, Kylee Mayfield and Calvin Mayfield, Madeline Syma, Hunter Syma and Chase Syma and Addison Armstrong and Emma Armstrong; and her great-great-niece, Caroline Ann Massey.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 18, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville, Texas followed by the funeral service at 2 o’clock. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, Texas.

Pallbearers will be William Janek III, Walker Janek, Ryan Robinette, David Massey, Jack Seymour and Malachi Lott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Juju Syma, Buster Syma, Roy Robinette and Raymond Brundrett.
