Allen Lloyd Bohac, 86, of Skidmore, died Friday, April 24, 2015. Mr. Bohac was born Dec. 5, 1928, in the Olmos Community to Edna (Hanus) and August Bohac. He married Marjorie Nell Wilkinson in Robstown on Feb. 17, 1949, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a retired Civil Service Firefighter at NAS Chase Field, was fire chief for Skidmore Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years, a member of VFW, and a member of First Baptist Church of Skidmore, where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Edna Bohac; and his wife, Marjorie Nell Bohac. Survivors include a son, Ricky Dean (Lyla) Bohac of Skidmore; step-grandsons: Wesley Merriman and Marshall Merriman; two brothers, Eugene Bohac of Livingston and Dennis Bohac of Katy; and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation was held Sunday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. The funeral service was conducted there Monday, April 27, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lee Bevly officiating. Musical selections were provided by organist Cyndi Bevly. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Cramer, John Cramer, Taizo Toelken, Bill Hartman, Randall Hartman and Ricky Bohac. Honorary pallbearers were the Skidmore Volunteer Fire Department. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Skidmore and the Skidmore Volunteer Fire Department.
