Ann (Roberson) Koger, 84, of Beeville, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012. Mrs. Koger was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Empire, Ala., to Minnie Lee Moncrief and Fred A. Roberson. She was a substance abuse counselor and director for the Beeville MHMR and a Baptist by faith. She moved to Beeville in 1979 and devoted her time to opening Bee-A-Live Rehab Center for adult males. When those doors closed in 1993, she went to work for TDCJ and retired in 2000. She was also a member of the Soroptomist Club, and volunteered with the Beeville Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, Sheila (Mac) Makowitch of Beeville; a granddaughter, Nanci Lynn Makowitch; a sister, Brenda (Gerald) Sealy of Mobile, Ala.; three nephews and one niece; and many great-nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted there Tuesday morning, Nov. 20, at 10 o'clock with Rev. Thomas Ingle officiating. Musical selections will include "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace." Memorial donations may be made the First Baptist Scholarship Fund.
