Anna "Ann" Elizabeth Stellman Oliver passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was born on February 8, 1936, to the late Harry and Ruth Stellman in Galveston, Texas. Ann graduated Valedictorian from Ball High School in 1953. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Education with a minor in English from the University of Corpus Christi in 1958, and she also received a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Texas A&I University in 1984 in Kingsville, Texas. Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated helpmate to her late husband, Brother Leo, in all of his ministries and during his pastorate of the First Baptist Church in Tuleta, Texas. She retired after thirty-seven years as a Texas Educator at Pettus ISD in Pettus, Texas. She greatly loved to help and serve people both personally and through the South Texas Helping Hands Ministry in North Bee County. Her faith and trust in God was the foundation of her life and in the lives of not only her children and grandchildren she raised, but also the multitude of people that she taught in school and helped throughout her lifetime. Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Leo C. Oliver Sr.; and her brothers, Harry Jr and JT Stellman. She is survived by her four children, Leo C. Oliver Jr., Carolyn Oliver, Calvin Oliver and wife, Dorothy, and Craig Oliver and wife, Kim; her grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Dawn Reinders and her husband, Glenn, Amanda Lewis and her husband, Jonathan, Jonathan Hubbard, Ethelyn Nichole Collins and her husband, TJ, Brittany Herbst and her husband, John, Jessicah Oliver, Ethan Ho; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Mason, Andrew, Elizabeth, Cayleigh, Brooke, Sage and Kelby. Ann is also survived by her niece, Judy Rhuman and her husband, Chuck; and her nephews, Tommy Stellman and wife, Mary Lou, Dick Stellman and his wife, Kathy, and Harry Stellman III and his wife, Carolyn; and a host of friends. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Galloway & Son's Funeral Home located at 409 N Tyler St, Beeville, TX 78102. Visitation and viewing will be on Thursday, October 2, 2014, and will be open between 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. for the family and from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. for friends and community. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. with graveside services following at the Beeville Memorial Park, 1.3 miles east on U.S. Hwy. 59 from Hwy. 181 Bypass. The services will be performed by Bro. Jack Allen of Tuleta Baptist Church and assisted by Bro. Vernon Andrews of Normanna Baptist Church. The music leader will be Bro. Moises Gonzales. Special music will also be performed by Lynn Broadway and Jason Maddox. Also assisting as pallbearers will be David Stewart, Lynn Broadway, Jason Maddox, Jesse Montez, Kenneth Fox, and Keith Doss. Honorary Pallbearers are Dudie Merrell, Marvin Voss, Tom Yeoman, and George McCarty. To help continue Ann and Leo's dream of helping others, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be sent to the South Texas Helping Hands Ministries at P.O. 375, Pettus, Texas 78146.
