Apolito "Polo" Morales

Apolito "Polo" Morales, 71, of Three Rivers, Texas passed away January 28, 2025, at his son's home in Mathis, Texas.

Born on August 13, 1953, in Mathis to Justin and Luisa (Garcia) Morales, Polo married Lucia Licona on June 10, 1973, in Mathis. He dedicated 25 years of his life to working at Valero Refinery, where he established himself as a hardworking and committed employee, earning the respect of his colleagues. His deep faith was evident in his active participation as a member of La Esperanza Baptist Church in George West where he found community and spiritual nourishment. He enjoyed joking around, telling stories and sharing God’s Word.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Justin and Luisa Morales; and his wife, Lucia L. Morales.

He is remembered fondly by his family, including his daughter, Raquel (Lalo) Tovar of San Antonio, and his son, Michael Morales of Mathis. Polo was a cherished grandfather to six grandchildren, Tatiana Alaniz, DavIrma Morales, Joseph Tovar, Andre Tovar, Justin Tovar and Brandon Tovar. He also shared a special bond with his sister, Celia (Juan) Tamez of Mathis, and his three brothers, Adan (Elida) Morales of San Antonio, Antonio (Maria) Morales of Schertz and Juan Morales of Mathis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 3, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers followed by a prayer service at 7 o’clock.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, at First Baptist Church in Three Rivers with Pastor Rickey Roman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Rudy Mendez, Danny Tamez, Juan Tamez, George Martinez, David Trevino, Alfredo Trevino and Toby Perez.

Polo will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Lucia, in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
