Artemisa V. Maldonado

Artemisa (Villanueva) Maldonado, 94, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at her home in Beeville, Texas.

Artemisa was born October 31, 1930, in Benavides, Texas to Felix Villanueva Sr. and Alicia (Lopez) Villanueva. She married Jesse Maldonado in Beeville on November 23, 1950. They were members of the Church of Christ. She was employed in the food service industry at R.A. Hall School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alicia and Felix Villanueva Sr.; her husband, Jesse Maldonado; four sisters, Armida V. Treaster, Juanita Villanueva, Cynthia Villanueva Langstaff and Alicia Lopez Villanueva; and a brother, Felix Villanueva Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Hector J. (Gloria) Maldonado of Beeville and Jesse O. (Becky) Maldonado of Pasadena; four grandsons, Jesse O. Maldonado, Brandon J. (Leah) Maldonado, Austin J. Maldonado and Jeremy O. Maldonado; one granddaughter, Ashley C. Maldonado; five great-grandsons, Jayden Maldonado, Justin Maldonado, Holden Shaw, Ollie Maldonado and Auggie Maldonado; four sisters, Lamar (Larry) Heald and Dalia V. (Abraham) Perez, both of Dallas, Lucila V. Villarreal of Houston and Diana V. (Rod) Mathiason of Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 19, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 a.m. Monday, January 20. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Jesse Maldonado.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Maldonado, Brandon Maldonado, Austin Maldonado, Jeremy Maldonado, Ashley Maldonado and Holden Shaw.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Sexton, Joe Maldonado and Reabo Mayberry.
