Arthur H. Zander Sr., 91, of Beeville, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. Mr. Zander was born on Aug. 6, 1919, in Lee County, to Fred and Ida Mae (Schroeder) Zander. He married Agnes Thelma Hill in Luling on June 14, 1939. He was a gauger in the oil and gas business by profession and was a member of First Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, gardening and outdoor sports. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Agnes Thelma (Hill) Zander; a son, James F. Zander; two granddaughters, Nanette Zander Eernisse and Tara Zander; a sister, Margie Lee Blalock; and a brother, Elwood Zander. Survivors include two sons, Richard (Mary) Zander of Beeville and Arthur H. (Ruby) Zander Jr. of Alice; two sisters, Delta Mae (Clifton) Weber of Luling and Erlee (Wilson) Gossett of South Carolina; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service was conducted there Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Greg Traylor officiating. Musical selections included "Amazing Grace," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beulah Land." Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Willie J.
