Arturo Arnulfo Chavarria, 66, of Three Rivers, Texas, passed away on his property on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. He was a resident of Three Rivers, Texas, most of his life and at the time of his passing. Arturo Chavarria was born October 24, 1949, to Ysidra and Guadalupe Chavarria in Three Rivers. He was the town barber and enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, and working with his hands. For the last 18 years, he also enjoyed a great breakfast in one of the town cafes with his three best friends, JR Rodriguez, Mike Ruiz, and Vance Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Manuel Chavarria. He is survived by his children, Janie Kohl of Round Rock, Texas, Guadalupe Chavarria II of Asheville, North Carolina, Arturo Chavarria, II, of San Marcos, Texas, Vanessa Chavarria of Vancouver, Washington, Allison Chavarria of George West, Texas, and Jose Chavarria of George West, Texas. He had four grandchildren, Averi Burke, Irela Burke, Hayden Kohl of Round Rock, Texas, and Skyla Chavarria of San Marcos, Texas. He is also survived by five loving sisters, Enriquetta Munoz, Lupita Lopez, Carmelita Moreno, Mary Torres, and Delia Casarez. Lastly, he is survived by two ex-wives, Mary Calvert and Sunny Chavarria. Arturo was the town barber for several decades. He really enjoyed hearing or telling a good joke. If you knew him well, you were probably the butt of one of his jokes at one time or another. He found humor in just about everything. Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Burial will follow at the Three Rivers Cemetery.
