Bayani "Pat" D. DelRosario, a devoted family man and dedicated veteran, passed away October 4, 2023, in a San Antonio hospital. He was 86.
Pat was born August 7, 1937 in Cavite City, Philippines, to Santiago DelRosario and Baldomera (Deleon) DelRosario. He earned an Associates in Business Administration from Bee County College. Pat's remarkable journey brought him to the United States in 1959 when he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served with honor and distinction until his retirement in 1985. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Eudelia Garza. They were married on September 1, 1961, in Sinton, Texas, and celebrated their 50th anniversary prior to her demise in October 2010. Beeville is where they made their home and raised their children.
In 2012, he married his second wife, Francisca A. Leonard, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville. Pat enjoyed western movies and shows, doughnuts and especially reminiscing about his life with his wife, Eudelia, and his time in the Navy. Spending time with his family and serving his church community at St. Joseph Catholic Church brought him much happiness. As a faithful and devout Catholic, Pat served as a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #1653 with St. Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Baldomera DelRosario; a son, Carlos DelRosario in 2004; and his first wife, Eudelia (Garza) DelRosario.
In addition to his second wife, Francisca (Leonard) DelRosario, Pat is survived by his daughter, Linda Jean Blucher of Mississippi; and son, Ricardo (Diana) DelRosario of San Antonio; as well as a sister-in-law, Amelia (Ramiro) Castillo of Beeville; and daughter-in-law, Michelle.
Pat’s pride and joy was being a grandfather to his four grandchildren, Tina, Mary Elizabeth, Bobby and Hyapatia. He also cherished his eight great-grandchildren, Elijah Bayani, Madison, Cailyn, Isaac, Alexandria, Rickey, Jade and Aria; and two great-great-grandchildren, Caiden and Claire Cross.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Pete Elizardo officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with members of the Knights of Columbus serving as pallbearers.
