Carlos Mendoza

Carlos Mendoza, 86, of Beeville, died Monday, May 16, 2011. Mr. Mendoza was born March 4, 1925, in Beeville to Gregorio and Antonia (Pena) Mendoza. He married Eloisa Gomez in Bee County on July 5, 1967, and was an oil field maintenance worker. He was a Catholic and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Elida Mendez Salinas. Survivors include his wife, Eloisa Gomez Mendoza of Beeville; a daughter, Mandy Mendoza (John) Palmer of Houston; four grandchildren, Sandra Salinas, Falyn Rincon, Stephanie Salinas Valdez and Patrick Rincon; three sisters, Sara Chapa, Teresa Segovia and Maria Elena Arciba; and one brother, Jose Luis Mendoza. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Eddie Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Edward Chapa, George Arciba, Joe Mendoza, Jose Valdez, Richard Segovia, and Johnathan Rangel. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
