Carol Scotten

Carol Lea Scotten, 72, passed away December 23, 2014. She was born November 29, 1942, in Galveston, Texas, to Carvel and Marjorie (Roberts) Dement. She married James Scotten in Beeville in 1962. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and retired as a claims adjuster from Brooke Insurance after more than 20 years. She was a member of Quilting Group, Women's Group and many church organizations. She was also, named Miss Texas Roller Skating Queen in 1959. She is preceded in death by two of her children, James Douglas Scotten, Michelle Elaine Scotten; and father and step-mother, Carvel and Mary Dement. She is survived by two sons, Michael (Ann) Scotten and Steven (Tamara) Scotten all of Beeville; Mother, Marjorie Dement and grandchildren, James Todd Scotten, Kyle Patrick Scotten, Brody Benavides, and Clayton Douglas Scotten. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014, at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
