Caroline Jackson

Caroline Sue (Smith) Jackson, 58, of Beeville, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013. Ms. Jackson was born Oct. 12, 1954, in San Antonio to Cleo (Nation) and Dodson Smith Sr. She was a cashier at Super S before she retired and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include two children, Cleo (Jerry Garcia) Jackson and Denzel Green, both of Beeville; four brothers, Dodson Smith Jr. of Stamford, Clarence E. (Shirley) Smith of Waco, Archie Smith and Mitchell (Yolanda) Smith, both of Beeville; three sisters, Alice F. Farris of San Antonio, Essie R. Langley and Christine Smith, both of Beeville; and three grandchildren, Paris Breaux, Iyon Hill and Dayton Garcia. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Tarver officiating. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Robert Farris, Charles E. Smith, Ray Langley, Rufus Smith, Mitchell R. Smith, Ozzie Smith, Robert Robinson, Lawrence Beasley and Gabriel Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Smith, Tony Sheppard, Amos Langley, Lewis Langley, Trey Smith, Archie Smith Jr. and Louis Segovia.
