Charlene (Biehunko) Kubenka, 83, of Beeville, died Saturday, April 9, 2016. Mrs. Kubenka was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Moulton to Elisabeth (Eissler) and Edward Biehunko. She married Marvin Kubenka in Beeville on Dec. 28, 1950, and was a homemaker and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She taught children's Sunday school for 36 years and enjoyed swimming, riding the school bus with children during the school year and riding roller coasters in San Antonio's theme parks. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Pvt. Edward L. "Bubba" Biehunko Jr. who was killed in action in WWII. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Alan) Saltarelli and Peggy Jo (Tim) Weiss, both of San Antonio; a son, Stan (Sharon) Kubenka of Kerrville; a sister, Arlene (Totsie) Walden of Seaford, Virginia; four grandchildren, Stacy(Kubenka)Bilodeau, Sara (Kubenka) Willis, Laura Beth (Weiss)Pryor and Dylan Saltarelli; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Conklin officiating. Burial will be at Moulton City Cemetery Friday at 3 p.m. Pallbearers will be Stan Kubenka, Tim Weiss, Alan Saltarelli, Dylan Saltarelli, Rob Walden, and Jerry Guerrero. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Linnstaeder. Memorial contributions may be made to South Texas Children's Home Ministries or the charity of one's choice.
