Charles Hershall Caron died at his home in George West, Texas on March 18, 2014.
Hershall was born September 8, 1931 at the Caron family home in George West. He was the son of August Emile Caron, Sr. and Reba Lee Salmon Caron.
Hershall graduated from George West High School in 1950 and attended San Marcos State Teachers College. He joined the Air Force and received an honorable discharge in 1955. He began ranching, one of his greatest loves in life, in 1957. After many years in the outdoor life he retired from ranching in 1996. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in George West. He was a Past Master of George West Masonic Lodge #1129.
Hershall is survived by his wife Peggy Cates Caron, two daughters, Annette Boeck (Jeff) and Kim Steelhammer (John) both of George West; twin sons, Bartt Charles Caron and Brett Hershall Caron, both of Corpus Christi; grandchildren Melissa Mokry Garza, Kayla Jo Mokry, Charles Dillon Mokry, Carlee Boeck, Bailey Keith, Landry Keith, all of George West and Breah Caron, and Kaden Caron, both of Corpus Christi; two great grandchildren Stetson Garza, and Ainslee Garza; and a sister Helen Probst of Wichita Falls.
Hershall was preceded in death by his first wife Ruthie Edwards Caron of George West; his parents and two brothers August E. Caron Jr. and Alfred Lee Caron of George West.
A Masonic graveside service was held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the George West Cemetery.
