Charles Kelso Schumacher "Uncle Charlie" passed away on August 17th, 2010, at Bay Area Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Charles was born on July 6th, 1937, in Orange Grove, Texas. He attended most of his school years at Orange Grove, Texas and graduated from Fredericksburg, Texas. After graduation he served in the Air Force and stationed at Nellis A.F.B. in Las Vegas, NV. where he met and married his wife, Lena, of 37 yrs. Charles lived most of his adult life in Las Vegas where he was an Electrician and proud member of I.B.E.W. Local 357. After his retirement Charles moved to Beeville, Texas to be close to his family. During his younger years Charles had a dear passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. During his retired years this passion turned to gardening and most of all feeding and caring for the wildlife on his property. Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Lena; parents, Perry and Elsie Schumacher; and brothers, Billy, Woody and Davis Schumacher. He is survived by an uncle, Tom Kelso of Premont; nieces, Wanda Henrichson of Sandia and Wendy McCown of Marion; nephews, Duane Schumacher of Argentina, Kenneth Schumacher of Angleton and Kevin (Little Buddy) Schumacher of Calallen; as well as numerous other relatives and friends, who will all miss him dearly. Private services with immediate family members will be held at his home later this week.
