Charles Woodward

Charles Maurice Woodward, 92, of Three Rivers died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014. Mr. Woodward was born July 22, 1922, to Oscar Edwin and Sue (Forgy) Woodward in Corsicana. He married Verna Lee Edge on Sept. 17, 1946, in Three Rivers. He was an operator for Mobil Oil Kitty Plant for 30 years and a deacon for First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Jeanne Williams, Lorene Powell, Amy Sue Woodward and Billie Lewis; and two brothers, Lewis Woodward and Ted Woodward. Survivors include his wife, Verna Lee Woodward; two sons, Alan (Laura) Woodward and Charles Lee Woodward; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers. The funeral service was conducted Monday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Three Rivers with the Rev. Lyn Means officiating. Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Cornelisus, Brian Woodward, Noah Woodward, Steve Stapleton, Tim Stroleny, and Scott Newport.
