Charlie Becker

Charlie C. Becker passed away at the age of 103. He was born in Barclay, Texas to Anton and Cecelia Winkler Becker. He was raised in Poth, Texas. He married the love of his life, Isabella Ehlers of Falls City on July 6, 1945. Charlie and Isabella had a wonderful life sharing travel, church, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. He was the last of a family of six brothers, Sidney, Raymond, Oscar, Danny, and Alvin. He is survived by nieces and nephews who have celebrated his many birthdays. Charlie was a man of the earth; he never had anger or a hurtful word about anyone. He was kind and generous, and would give you anything he had without question. He had a real green thumb, anything he planted in his yard grew, and it was amazing. His passion for hunting and fishing never ceased in all his years. He was always ready to go. Everyone who knew Charlie will remember him as a kind gentle person. Charlie was a farmer, truck driver, and carpenter, and helped build a number of buildings in Beeville and at the Bee County College. He will be missed by all who knew him with love and good thoughts of a gentle man. Visitation was held on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home from 6 p.m. -7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. Entombment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
