Chester Mccoun

Chester S. McCoun, 90, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015. Chester was born to Dewey R. and Gladys Mae (Painter) McCoun in Comyn, Texas (Comanche County) on June 7, 1924. Chester was a long time resident of Beeville. He moved to Corpus Christi in 2010, where he passed away at the age of ninety. Earlier in life, he made a career as a pilot in the United States Air Force and retired as a Major after serving many years with the USAF Reserves. He also worked and retired with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., and sold real estate in Bee County. Chester was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John D. McCoun. He is survived by his loving niece, Dee (Robert) Berthold; and grand-nephew, Robert (Amy) Berthold, Jr., Addison and Tyson Berthold. Visitation was held Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville. A private interment was at Beeville Memorial Park.
