MR. CICERO J. "SMOKEY" BLANKENSHIP Cicero J. "Smokey" Blankenship, 91, passed away peacefully from his mortal life Monday, January 26, 2015, at the Community Hospice Center of Fort Worth, Texas. Smokey was dearly loved by family and friends. He was a veteran of WWII and felt great loyalty to his country and the cause of freedom. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Beeville, Texas, for many years. Most recently he resided with his youngest daughter, Carol Bridger, and her husband, Bill Bridger, at Tool, Texas. Smokey was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Helen, who passed away November 13, 2013. He is survived by four children, Darlene Walser of Weatherford, Texas, Ed Blankenship, of Skidmore, Texas, Alan Blankenship, of Arlington, Texas, and Carol Bridger, of Tool, Texas. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial will be held for Smokey at 10 AM, Friday, January 30, 2015, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in Athens, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery, Skidmore, Texas. Interment will follow.
