Collene Tom

Collene (Raney) Tom, 80, of George West, Texas passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021.

Collene was born September 29, 1941 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Walter Raney and Lorene (Johnston) Raney. She was a graduate of Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas (TFND) and earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University. She was married to Steven L. Tom for 33 years upon his passing. She was a retired teacher and avid football fan. She loved watching her grandsons play high school football and was always ready for the next game! She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville where she attended Mass while she was growing up. More recently she attended St. George Catholic Church in George West.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lorene Raney; and her husband, Steven L. Tom.

Survivors include her daughter, Catherine White and George (Bo) White, son-in-law; two grandsons, Dylan White and his wife Megan, and Dustin White; and great-granddaughter, Frankie Kait White.

Services will be private.

Collene will be laid to rest at the George West Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dustin White, Dylan White, Bo White and Matt Hancock.
