Conal R. Polk, a devoted husband, stepfather, step-grandfather and step-great-grandfather, peacefully passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at his home in Beeville, Texas at the age of 73.
Conal was born October 21, 1950, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Augustus C. and Ida I. (Box) Polk. After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army and continued his commitment to service by working as a Correctional Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice post his military tenure.
Outside of his professional life, Conal found joy and purpose in various pursuits. He selflessly served as a member of the Beeville Volunteer Fire Department and as a chaplain for the VFW in Fort Stockton. He was also employed as a part-time bus driver for Beeville ISD.
Conal will be deeply missed by his loving wife, stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchild. Additionally, he is survived by two sisters. two brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is now reunited with his parents and one brother in eternal peace.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville followed by a chapel service at 11 o’clock. Pastor Tim Stowe will officiate.
Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
