Concepcion Martinez

Concepcion (Garcia) Martinez, 87, of Rockport, Texas, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at Live Oak Nursing Center in George West.

Concepcion was born December 11, 1934 to Apolino and Lucia (Reyna) Garcia in George West. Her love of God and family and loyalty to her Christian faith led her through a wonderful peaceful journey in life. She enjoyed her family, a cup of warm coffee, peanut butter sandwiches and she also loved singing Christian music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Apolino and Lucia (Reyna) Garcia; grandson, Leroy Flores; granddaughter, Sarah Martinez; sister, Maria Perez; and brother, Geronimo Garcia.

Survivors include a daughter, Rachel (Domingo) Flores of Rockport; a son, Eddie (Cindy) Martinez of Mathis; nine grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer) Flores, Roger Flores, Melody Ramos, Joseph (Melissa) Martinez, Faith Martinez, Cherish (Christopher) Alaniz, Destiny Martinez, Eternity Martinez and Jonathan Martinez; eight great-granddaughters; and six great-grandsons.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville with Pastor Valentin G. Macias Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.

Pallbearers will be Albaro Flores, Pete Flores, Daniel Flores, Michael Flores, Blake Alaniz and Joseph Martinez.
