Curtis Weldon Blevins

Curtis Weldon Blevins, 83, passed away on April 14, 2024, in his home in George West, Texas surrounded by family.

Curtis was born July 2, 1940, in Stratford, Oklahoma to Curtis Alexander and Rebecca Ruth (Wood) Blevins. He married the love of his life, Eddie Lou Parrish, on October 24, 1959. They raised three beautiful children, Gregory Weldon Blevins, Lisa Annette Jackson and John Reese Blevins.

Curtis was a devoted husband and father. After his retirement, he spent his days in South Texas with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and spent every minute he could fishing on the Nueces River.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Lisa Annette Jackson; and siblings, Clara Grisom, Gayle Patterson and Bobby Blevins.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eddie Blevins; his sons, Greg Blevins and John (Julie) Blevins; his son-in-law, Terry Jackson; his siblings, Kay Knowlton, Steve (Cecilia) Blevins and Diann Payne; his grandchildren, Terri (Michael), Amanda, Beau, Kendra (Jeremy), Jessica (Aaron), Jami (Aaron), Karley (Keith), Shelby (Carlos), Alyssa (Zane), Koury (Jesse), and Tristen; and 16 precious great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, at Brush Country Cowboy Church followed by the funeral service at 10 o’clock with Pastor Pat Traxler officiating.

Curtis will be laid to rest in the George West Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Beau Gooch, Aaron Guerrero, Tristen Blevins, Jeremy Wilhelm, Matthew Garza, Jesse Carbajal and Shannon McMullen.
