David Joseph Wyble, Sr. “Frenchy” passed away April 2, 2017, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Catherine Ann Wyble. They were married happily for 55 years. Frenchy was born in Port Barre, LA on September 7, 1938. Before moving to Corpus Christi, TX, he served in the United States Air Force. He joined the Boilers Makers Union. Later he went to work for Southwestern Refinery and he worked with the RFTC. He retired from Koch Refinery. Upon retirement, he started volunteering for the Fire Department in Swinney Switch, TX. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served as Bishop for many years. He taught through service and love. He also served as a Scout Master for several years in Corpus Christi, TX. He enjoyed living on the lake where he would fish and hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Pressley Wyble; four children, David (Janie) Wyble of Swinney Switch, TX, Jamey (Tammie) Wyble of Cuero, TX, Tricia (Clint) Brown of Swinney Switch, TX and Spring (Rito) Zertuche of Swinney Switch, TX; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and sister, Chalanne “Crickett” Lopez.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Wyble; his mother, Anne Motte Wyble; and brother, John David Wyble of Arizona.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Beeville, TX. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Beeville, TX. Interment will follow at George West Cemetery in George West, TX.
Pallbearers will be Justin Wyble, Cameron Brown, Ryan Velasquez, Josh Ocanas, Jimmy Noblett, Jason Noblett, Ben Noblett and Jesse Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Wasicek, Caleb Brown, Jadon Ocanas and Alex Ocanas.
