Delilah Joan (Bing) Price

Delilah Joan (Bing) Price, 93, a beloved first-grade teacher who dedicated 31 years to nurturing the minds and hearts of young learners, passed away peacefully at her home in Beeville, Texas, on October 3, 2024.

Joan was born May 29, 1931, in Latham, Kansas to Clyde Herbert Bing and Lillian Inez (Eastin) Bing. She was a 1948 graduate of Latham High School and married Joseph Henry Price in Kansas in 1951. She pursued education with a passion and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas and proudly taught first-graders in the Beeville ISD. She joined her husband and moved to Beeville with their four children in 1963. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished the moments spent with them.

Joan and her husband were actively involved in the Beeville Volunteer Ambulance Service for many years serving as training officers for CPR and first aid classes. She also taught defensive driving. Upon retirement, she joined the Bee County Retired School Personnel Chapter of the Texas Retired Teachers Association to continue serving her community in many volunteer activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Herbert Bing and Lillian Inez (Eastin) Bing; her husband, Henry Price, who passed in 2008; a grandson, Napoleon Frank Swafford, who passed July 27, 2024; and a brother, Donald Bing.

Left behind to cherish memories of their beloved mother include her two sons, Elden (Kay) Price of Beeville and Terre Price (Marshall Grimes) of San Rafael, California; two daughters, Becky Williams and Jeanette Swafford, both of Beeville; as well as two grandsons, Bing Swafford of Beeville and Duane (Keli) Price of Cleburne; three granddaughters, Diana (Michael) Kroen of Beeville, Joey Ann (Ryan) Royal of Three Rivers and Shannon Janssen (John Gandy) of San Antonio; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Duane (Martha) Bing of Enterprise, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 6, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, October 7, at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 902 N. Polk St., Beeville, TX 78102. Pastor Samuel Vega and Pastor Boris Reyes will officiate. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Duane Price, Michael Kroen, Ryan Royal, Jayse Alvarado, Rob Koch and Alex Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ali and Josh Rodriguez, Austin Price, Hadyn Kroen, Jordan and Amelia Price, Kalee Kroen, Carolyne Royal and Payton Royal.
