Donah Carter

Donah Mitchell Carter, age 88, of George West, Live Oak County, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013. Born July 26, 1924, in Alma, Crawford County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of William O. and Edna May (Austin) Mitchell. She married Charles W. "Charlie" Carter, Sr. on March 5, 1941 in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. She and her husband, Charles, were co-owners of Carter's Restaurant in George West for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings being two brothers and five sisters; by her loving husband, Charlie Carter, Sr. on May 11, 1997 after a marriage of 56 years; a son, Chester William Carter, on February 1, 1954 at the tender age of two and a half years. She is survived by four children; son, Charles W. "Charlie" (Lauren) Carter of Hondo, Texas, son, Tom W. (Yvonne) Carter of Rio Frio, Texas, daughter Cheryl Darlene (Earl, Sr.) Faske of Granbury, Texas, and daughter, Kathryn Gayle (Bob) Richter of Austin, Texas; by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ in Three Rivers, Texas. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ in Three Rivers, Texas. Interment will follow at the Three Rivers Cemetery.
