Doris Smith

Doris Marie (Moore) Smith, 85, of Beeville, died Monday, March 16, 2015. Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Shallowater to Velma Mae (Blackwell) and James Travis Moore. She married O.R. "Buddy" Smith in Lovington, New Mexico on Jan. 7, 1950, and was an office manager for Smith Drilling Company. She was an active member of Adams Street Church of Christ; she was also a Pink Lady volunteer, a member of Business and Professional Women's Association and enjoyed bowling. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, David Ray Smith. Survivors include her husband, O.R. "Buddy" Smith of Beeville; a son, Ron (Charlotte) Smith of Beeville; grandchildren, Ashleigh (Arlon) Feuerbacher and Lance (Alleasha)Smith; three great-grandchildren, Charleigh Feuerbacher, Tinleigh Feuerbacher, and Jett Smith; and a brother, Leroy Dale Moore of Liberty Hill. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Adams Street Church of Christ with Jason Dunn and Keith Sellers officiating. Musical selections will be led by Jimmy Moore. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lance Smith, Arlon Feuerbacher, Jon Dunn, Von Dunn, Dennis Dunn and Richard Goodson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Puckett, David Todd, Jack Elder, Jesse Contreras, Tommy Dunn and Kenneth Smith.
