Dorothy Marie Uzzell

Dorothy Marie (Koenig) Uzzell, age 85, of Beeville, Texas, died of natural causes on Friday, August 9, 2024, in Round Rock, Texas. 

Dorothy was born on February 7, 1939, to James and Lois Koenig in Beeville. She dedicated numerous years to the banking industry and retired as a Vice President of Commercial National Bank in Beeville. Dorothy found immense happiness in the company of her beloved family and friends. A favorite pastime was cheering for her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Koenig; and her husband, John “Mac” Uzzell.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lori Uzzell of Leander and Terri (Bill) Mudgett of Round Rock; a son, John Keith Uzzell of Corpus Christi; sister, Betty Koenig Berry; brothers, Larry (Sissy) Koenig and Hardy (Lori) Koenig. She was also blessed with a granddaughter, Taylor Mudgett (Adam Wheeler); a grandson; Spencer Mudgett; and two great-grandchildren, Conor and Isla Wheeler.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 12 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o'clock that evening.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dorothy’s nieces and nephews, Matt Koenig, Mark Koenig, Brian Koenig, Crystal Koenig, Michael Fojtik and Joe Fojtik.

Honorary pallbearers will be Diane Rudisaile, Austin Koenig, Savannah Koenig, Katherine “Kitty” Fojtik and Mark Barrett.
