Dr. Allen Lee Lasiter, longtime resident of Beeville, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2013. Dr. Lasiter was born Janurary 17, 1923 to Brinkley Bird and Minnie Bell (Cain) Lasiter in Eagle Mills, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Opal; and sisters, Helen, Idell, and Florence. Dr. Lasiter is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bobbie Richard Lasiter; children, Lee Allen Lasiter (Janette Kensinger), Richard Scott (Linell) Lasiter, Beau Robin (Morgan) O'Brien, and Clayton Brink (Barbara) Lasiter; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Lasiter, John (Shannon) O'Brien, James (Tonni) O'Brien and Lace (Matthew) Felcman and Kathryn (Wade) Skrobarczyk and Victoria Lasiter; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Trinity, and Taryn O'Brien, Sydney O'Brien, and Elizabeth, Christine, and Morgan Felcman; many nieces, nephews, and friends. After serving as a Navy pilot in World War ll, Dr. Lasiter married Bobbie Richard on August 11, 1946. Dr. Lasiter attended Kilgore Junior College and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas (Houston). He and Bobbie moved to Beeville in 1952 where he started his dental practice. In 1968 he established the Dental Hygiene program at Bee County College which he directed until his retirement in 1985. In addition to his professional contributions to the City of Beeville, Dr. Lasiter was an ardent supporter of Little League baseball, past president of Kiwanis Club and a Member of the Methodist Church. Dr. Lasiter was a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished by extended family, friends, and community. We will miss him dearly and he will always be in our hearts. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at First United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
