Eliseo Cruz

Eliseo Cruz, 70, born and raised in Three Rivers, Texas, gained his wings on December 5, 2024, as on this day he was called by our Lord and Savior. Eliseo passed away peacefully at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville surrounded by his beloved family.

He was born on August 9, 1954, to Pablo Cruz Jr. and Asencion "Chovita" Cruz Parker. He was a graduate of the Three Rivers High School Senior Class of 1973. After high school graduation, he served honorably in the U.S. Army for 20 years, a commitment that exemplifies his dedication and sense of duty. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home to Three Rivers and pursued further education at Bee County College, aspiring to become a correctional officer. This goal led him to a long and impactful career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he was employed for more than 20 years at the Garza West Unit in Beeville.

Though a man of few hobbies, Eliseo found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including watching television and reading the Bible.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pablo Cruz Jr.; his mother, Ascencion Cruz Parker; a brother, Cruz Cruz; and his stepfather, Jim Parker.

Left behind to cherish fond memories include his loving sister, Christina DeLeon, along with his nephew, Brandon DeLeon, of Beeville. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his brother, Pablo "Paul" Cruz, and his wife Emily of Three Rivers, as well as his sister, Lucinda (Griffith) Mandell, and her husband Lee of Victoria.
