Ell Dolores (Hurst) Freeze of Aransas Pass and formerly of Beeville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the age of 85.
Ell was born May 26, 1935 in Estes, Aransas County, to Climmie L. (Williams) and Chester Clive Hurst Sr. She married Roy Lee Freeze on August 9, 1962 in Beeville. She was known for her friendly smile working in the meat market for numerous years at H-E-B as well as a food demo specialist. As a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Aransas Pass, she took pride in baking and sharing her delicious homemade lemon and coconut pies for church activities. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Climmie and Chester Clive Hurst Sr.; two brothers, Chester Clive Hurst Jr. and Floyd Everett Hurst; and a sister, Wanda Morrison.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Roy Lee Freeze; three sons, Willis G. Freeze, Kelvin Garth Freeze and Randall Lee Freeze; grandchildren, Kody, Chelsea, Kyle, Westley, Britteny, Kristian and Miranda; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Stewart; a brother, Tollie Hurst; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 21, at Glenwood Cemetery with Pastor Donald Volz of Crossroads Church officiating.
