Elsie Engelking

Elsie (Hertel) Engelking, 91, of Beeville died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011. Mrs. Engelking was born March 1, 1920, in Burton to Anna (Kirchner) and Paul Hertel. She married James C. Engelking on April 27, 1946, in Beeville. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was part of the Faith Lutheran Women's Circle and Quilting Group and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Engelking; and her parents, Paul and Anna Hertel. Survivors include a son, James (Cynthia) Engelking Jr.; a daughter, Carol Ann (James T.) White; two grandsons, Mark R. Engelking and Luke J. Engelking; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home.
