Elwood Lloyd Probst, 77, passed away September 9, 2015 in his home in Casper, Wyoming. He was born November 03, 1937 in George West, TX to Elwood Clyde Probst and Dorothy Maye Lumpkin Probst. He was the youngest of two. Known to his friends and family as Bud, he graduated from George West High School in 1956. Bud's college career at the University of Texas was interrupted by four years in the Air Force, 1961-1965, where he was trained as a nuclear weapons specialist. He did some training at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado, which peaked an interest to later move west. He served in Korea and North Dakota. When he was discharged in 1965 he finished his college degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas and shortly after took a job with Schlumberger in the oil and gas industry in Vernal, Utah. From there he worked in Rock Springs, Wyoming and finally to Casper, Wyoming in 1978 where he lived until his death. Bud loved sports, hunting, and fishing, and made the most of the outdoors in the Casper area. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Clyde and Dorothy Maye Probst and his sister, Jeanette Probst Tabb. He is survived by his brother in law, William E. Tabb of New Braunfels, TX, nephew Mike Tabb (Barb) of Breckenridge, CO, nieces, Kay Yaroslawski (Steve) of San Marcos TX, Jeannie Kauppi (Ken) of Bellville, TX, and Annette Arp (Lee) of New Braunfels, TX, as well as six great nieces and three great nephews. Graveside service will be held at the George West cemetery on November 15, 2015 at 1:00pm followed by a reception at the First United Methodist Church in George West.
