Emelie Inez Fox, passed away March 18, 2018, at the age of 88.
She was born on September 17, 1929, in Lockhart, Texas, to JW and Ruby Walker. She married the love of her life, Cecil Fox on November 16, 1946, in Three Rivers, Texas, who she was married to for 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Roy Hinckley; granddaughter, Kathy Overby; grandson, Keith Fox; and great granddaughter, Sydney Dickey.
Survivors include her four children, Clyde Fox (Connie) of Normanna, TX, Barbara Fox (Brian Bush) of New Braunfels, TX, Brenda Hinckley of Olathe, KS and Michael Fox (Leanne) of Beeville, TX. Also, sister, Dorothy Isaacks of Normanna, TX; and brother, Rev. William Walker of Halletsville, TX; 7 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Inez owned the Normanna Grocery Store for over 12 years, was an amazing cook and used the kitchen there to share her love of cooking with anyone that was hungry. She was an incredibly talented musician and played multiple instruments to include the mandolin, piano, accordion, steel guitar, acoustic guitar and banjo just to name a few. She was a member of Normanna Baptist Church where she played the piano for 57 years and taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She lived her life to serve the Lord and to give to others and never let an opportunity pass to share the Lord. Her greatest desire was that others would come to know her Lord and Savior and have a personal relationship with Him.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at San Domingo Cemetery.
