Era Wallek

Era Maudie (Case) Wallek, 79, passed away on November 11, 2014. She was born on August 19, 1935 in Beeville, Texas to Joe and Bernice (Hobbs) Case. She married Jim Wallek on November 24, 1951 in the First Baptist Church in Beeville and they were working on their 64th anniversary. Era resided in Beeville all her life and was a member of First Baptist Church in Beeville since she was six years old. She was a member of Corpus Christi Highlights, Porcelain Art Club of Corpus Christi, The Art Center of Corpus Christi, Home Demonstration Club of Clareville and Beeville, Eastern Star Chapters of Mathis and Kenedy and was a past matron of the Beeville Chapter, and was a former member of Beeville Garden Club. She loved to arrange flowers and had presided over two award winning Flower Shows in Beeville. She was an accomplished porcelain painter and enjoyed playing the piano. She loved her family and enjoyed watching the children and grandchildren grow. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 1 brother, Joel Case. She is survived by husband, Jim Wallek; 3 children, Mary Anne (Jack) Linney, Kenneth (Patricia) Wallek and Jo Anna Wallek (Cliff) Davis all of Beeville; 6 grandchildren, Kristofer Linney, Jacob (Jennifer) Linney, Desaree Linney (Kyler) Wilson, Cheryl Wallek, Dustin (Danielle) Wallek, and Mandi Jo Fox; 8 great grandchildren, Addison, Jace, Laikyn, Kolton, Keithan, Caleb, Ethan, and Lucas; 1 sister, Linda (John) Cline of Bastrop; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Beeville.
