Ernest Edward Hurst, 91, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2017.
Mr. Hurst was born March 3, 1926, to Chester Clive and Climmie (Williams) Hurst in Colorado City. He was the founder of Trinity Chapel in Beeville and was a home builder retiring after over 65 years in the business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. and Climmie Hurst; first wife, Freddie Lee; second wife, Frances; three brothers, C.C. Hurst Jr., Everett Hurst and Clive Hurst; and a sister, Wanda Morrison.
Survivors include his children, David Hurst and Ernest Hurst Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Stewart and Dolores Freeze; a brother, Tollie Hurst; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Glenwood Cemetery.
