Eugenia Lazo

Eugenia (Martinez) Lazo, age 86, passed away on August 30, 2018. Eugenia Lazo was born in Jim Wells County on November 15, 1931, to the late Adan Martinez and Maria (Benavides) Martinez.
She married the late Marcelino Lazo Sr. in Orange Grove on January 29, 1949. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and was a housewife who enjoyed her family, friends, embroidery, sewing, cooking and working in the yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcelino Lazo Sr.; an infant son, Marcelino Lazo Jr.; her parents, Maria and Adan Martinez Sr.; her step-mother, Petra Martinez; two brothers, Simon Martinez and Adan Martinez Jr.; and two sisters, Margarita Rodriguez and Guadalupe M. Guerrero.
She is survived by three sons, Ruben Lazo of Fort Worth, Marcelino (Linda) Lazo Jr. of George West and Carlos (Christiana) Lazo of Mineral Wells; three daughters, Maria Amalia Soliz of George West, Enedina (Rosario) Gonzales of Cresson and Beatriz (Robert II) Duke of George West; three sisters, Elida (Fidel) Alaniz of Christine and Aurora (Francisco) Hernandez and Anita Martinez, both of George West; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2018, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. A Rosary will be recited at St. George Catholic Church that evening at 7 o'clock.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 3, 2018 at St. George Catholic Church with Father George Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the George West Cemetery in George West.
Pallbearers will be Ruben Lazo, Joseph Lazo, Carlos Lazo Sr., Carlos R. Lazo, Eugene Soliz and Marcelino Lazo Jr.
