Felix DeLeon, 69, of Beeville, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012. Mr. DeLeon was born March 31, 1943, in Tohoka to Serapio and Anita Trevino DeLeon. He served in the U.S. Navy and married Christina Cruz in Kingsville on Jan. 30, 1970. He was a carpenter and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, comptroller for the Knights of Columbus and the U.S. Navy Construction Batallion (Seabees). He was a Eucharistic minister, a cursillista, minister of hospitality (usher), a member of Acts Retreat and the Mother of Schoenstatt movement and was active in Catholic Ministry to the Deaf. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Christina DeLeon of Beeville; two sons, William (Christina) DeLeon of Groves and Brandon DeLeon of Beeville; two sisters, Mary (Manuel) Muniz of Wharton and Delia Banda of Lubbock; and a grandson, Jacob DeLeon. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Deaf Ministries or Texas School for the Deaf.
