Floyd Cavallin, 91, of George West, Texas, and formerly of Riverdale, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
Floyd was born September 23, 1927, to Clarence and Betty (Griffith) Cavallin in Nacogdoches, Texas. He married Melba Faustina Day in Rome, Georgia. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and he was an optometrist, a Christian and loved fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Betty Cavallin; his wife, Melba F. Cavallin; two sons, Mike and John Cavallin; and three siblings, Melvin, Irvin and Pauline.
He is survived by a grandson, Josh (Jordan) Cavallin of Marietta, Georgia; a granddaughter, Missy (Andy) Johnson of Bremen, Georgia; two great-granddaughters, Lolly and Victoria; a brother, Lynes Cavallin of George West; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West followed by the funeral service at 10 o'clock with Rev. Pat Traxler officiating.
Burial will be held at a later date at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
