Floyd Dillard Williamson Jr., 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Beeville, Texas on May 6, 2022, lovingly surrounded by his family.
Floyd was born June 22, 1927 in Galveston, Texas to Eura Mable (Hamilton) Williamson and Floyd Dillard Williamson Sr. He married Mary Lois Miller on Feb. 5, 1951, in Freer, Texas and served in the U.S. Navy and Army. He was a plant worker at Bruni, Runge, Refugio, Agua Dulce and then was supervisor at Trinity for United Gas Pipeline. He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and hard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eura and Floyd Williamson Sr.; grandparents, Wyley and Sallie Edna (Hurt) Williamson and William Christi and Ora Belle (Johnston) Hamilton; siblings, Robert Lee Williamson, Robert Floyd Williamson, Carroll Dillard Williamson, Ruxton O’Shea Williamson, Ruby May (Williamson) Phillips and Ura Belle Williamson; and great-grandson, Hunter Ray.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Mary Lois (Miller) Williamson; son, William Travis Williamson; daughter, Sherrie Diane (Kenn) Higdon; siblings; Barbara Nell Kappelman, Martha Ann Sanders and Jerry Dillard (Susie) Williamson; grandchildren, William Travis (Rhonda) Williamson Jr., Clinton Cole (Donna) Williamson, Adam Dillard Williamson, Jennifer Diane (Jeff) Williamson and Jessica Ann Fulce; and great-grandchildren, Shyla, Elizabeth, Jared, Braden, Cole, Gage, Gracelyn, Chance, Conner, Dustin, Clayton, Madeline, Addison and Ava.
Family and friends will gather for a meal at 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Adams Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. that afternoon with the funeral service at 2 o’clock with Daniel Garza officiating. Mr. Williamson will be laid to rest at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Kenn Higdon, Travis Williamson Jr., Clint Williamson, Adam Williamson, Braden Williamson and Brandon Shepherd.
