Francisco Gonzales, Jr.

Francisco "Pancho" Gonzales, Jr., 89, passed away on January 3, 2016. He was born December 11, 1926 to Francisco and Cruz (De Los Santos) Gonzales in Lagarto, Texas. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church and retired from the G.W.I.S.D. maintenance department. He was also a retired ranch manager. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lydia Cardona Gonzales; and 4 sons, Frank Gonzales, Rudolfo Gonzales, Robert Gonzales, and Ramiro Gonzales. He is survived by his 9 daughters, Tina Prater of Florida, Alicia Gonzales of Florida, Sylvia Garcia of Houston, TX, Idalia Gonzales of Dallas, TX, Elda (Lyndon) Specht of George West, TX, Sandra (Ben) Amoles of George West, TX, Elva Gonzales of Corpus Christi, TX, Sue Ann Alvarado of Lubbock, TX, and Lydia Serna of Kenedy, TX; 4 sons, Ricardo Gonzales of Boston, MA, Adolfo Gonzales of George West, TX, Alfredo Gonzales of Colorado, and David Ray Gonzales of Waco, TX; 2 brothers, Polo Martinez of Temple, TX, and Eusebio Martinez of Waco, TX; 2 sisters, Eva Gonzales Hinojosa of Alice, TX, and Fannie Martinez of San Antonio, TX; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West with a rosary recited there that evening at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at St. George Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
