Fred Sawyer, Jr.

Fred Wayland Sawyer Jr., 73, of Three Rivers, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Mr. Sawyer was born May 31, 1940, in Simmons City to Rowena Ellen (Putnam) and Fred Wayland Sawyer Sr. He was a welder's helper and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers. He was also involved in the United Methodist Men, Emmaus and enjoyed reading. Survivors include a sister, Darlene (Sonny) Holdridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers with Rev. Vallilea Blair officiating. Musical selections will include "In the Garden," "Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art." Burial will follow in the Simmons City Cemetery.
