Fred Stanley Tegge was born May 26, 1924, in Granger to Stella (Stanley) and Fred Lee Tegge. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and married Imogene Henson on July 20, 1947, in Rosebud. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was on the administrative board and was a member of Rotary since 1972. Mr. Tegge worked for Capitol National Bank in Austin from 1946-1960. He was vice president of City State Bank in Palacios from 1960-1972. He served on the Matagorda County Hospital Board, Palacios Library Association, Lions Club, and Administrative Board and Building Committee at First United Methodist Church in Palacios. He was president of State Bank & Trust of Beeville from 1972-1975, and owned and operated Tegge Business Service from 1975, until his retirement in 2011. Mr. Tegge was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melvin (Esther) Tegge; infant brother; nephew; great-nephew; granddaughter, Kirby Michelle Carreon; and three great-grandchildren. His survivors include his wife, Imogene Tegge of Beeville; children, Beverly Selby (Rev. Dr. Richard) of Farmers Branch, Wallace Stanley Tegge of Beeville and Lillian Slater of Waukee, Iowa; grandchildren, Kyle Roach, Kendra House, Amber Blair and Chris Carreon; ten great-grandchildren; and nephew, Russell Tegge. Stanley Tegge enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and gardening. Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Muehl officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Bartlett Cemetery in Bartlett.
