Garland Harrison

Garland Dale Harrison 87, of Clareville Community, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Mr. Harrison was born on September 25, 1931 in Duval County to Inez Lee and William Morris Harrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Josephine Redding and Helen Stautzenberger; and two brothers, William and Morris Harrison.

After graduating from Bishop High School, Mr. Harrison entered the military. During the Korean War, he served proudly in the Army Second Infantry Division. He retired from Hoechst Celanese Refinery in Bishop after 30 years. He was a talented artist and family genealogist.

He was active in the Clareville Cemetery Association and Bee County family history projects. He will be remembered for his generous heart and contributions to his community.

Mr. Harrison is survived by nieces Martha Haun, Brenda Wiley, Carol Lyons and Barbara, Deborah and Wanda Harrison; and nephews DeWayne Redding, Ernie Stautzenberger, Rockie Stautzenberger, Dennis Harrison and Robert Harrison.

A private family gathering will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore at a later date.
